Quindrie Comic Fund
Quindrie Press’ goal has always been to support the UK comic scene, so a large portion of our profit over the years has been bookmarked to be able to pay creators for future projects. As Quindrie Press will be closing down at the end of 2026, I want to ensure the bookmarked money still goes towards comic creators.
The Quindrie Comic Fund will consist of a shared £3,000 pot. Creators can apply for up to £1,000 for a specific comic-related project or goal. Maybe you want to buy some comic-making supplies, attend a workshop to improve your craft, pay for an editor, or print your webcomic; no comic project is too small. This is not an application to be published by Quindrie Press.
Submissions will be reviewed by Eve Greenwood, Hari Conner, and Nyla Ahmad.
Submissions open on Friday 8th May 2026 and close on Friday 31st July 2026 at 5pm BST (three months total). We are not open for submissions for any other comics or projects and we will ignore and delete any emails regarding other kinds of submissions.

What is Quindrie Press?
Quindrie Press is an independent comics publisher based in Edinburgh, Scotland, founded and solely run by comic creator Eve Greenwood in 2020. Due to a variety of factors, I have sadly decided to close Quindrie Press at the end of 2026; you can read a full statement about this here.
Quindrie’s focus was to provide creators with the opportunity to publish passion project comics that haven’t found their home anywhere else. We had a particular interest in helping marginalised and upcoming creators to publish their work. Our comics have received nominations from the Eisner, Ignatz, SICBA, and Selkie Awards, plus more.
Quindrie Press is a trans-led small business and our values were - and still are - those of inclusivity and respect. Each month we donate a portion of our PDF sales to a different charity or organisation dedicated to supporting marginalised communities in Scotland. Read more about our selected organisations here. All our crowdfunding campaigns included options to donate books to people in prison or people in need. Quindrie Press believes in a free Palestine, that trans women are women, and that Black Lives Matter.
What is the fund for?
This fund is to support independent comic creators based in the UK who have a specific project or goal. This goal could be to:
Print your comic.
Hire an editor, letterer, or colourist.
Improve your craft by attending workshops or classes.
Buy comic-making supplies.
Pay for bills to be able to work on a comic.
Travel to events or pay for tables at events to sell your comic.
Put on a community-focused comic workshop, talk, launch, or meetup.
Something else we haven’t mentioned! If you’re unsure whether your project or goal is eligible for this fund, feel free to contact Eve at quindriepress@gmail.com.
Bear in mind that, if your submission is successful, the funds will not be transferred until after 31st October 2026.
This fund does not include Quindrie Press’ involvement, whether that’s for editing, feedback, promotion, or publication.
This fund is not for:
Prose, illustrated stories or poetry, or other non-comic projects.
Comic projects based on stories, media, or IP owned by a company or a creator who is not part of the submitted project (ie. no fanfiction/fanworks or satires).
Comics that have already been picked up by a publisher.
If you are planning on using the money to develop a pitch for a publisher who you are not yet signed with for that specific project, you may apply.
Comics that have already been funded through Kickstarter.
If you are planning on running your comic as a Kickstarter but have not yet done so, you may apply.
Putting on a market event (whether a fair, festival, or convention) where multiple creators’ work is sold.
Comics involving AI at any stage of production, including writing and concept.
While the fund is open to creators whose work involves challenging or strong political themes, we will never be interested in supporting work that promotes hateful ideologies such as racism, homophobia, or transphobia.
Who can apply?
The Quindrie Comic Fund is available to creators who are based in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, or England fulltime (if you currently live in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, or England but will leave within the next two years then you unfortunately do not qualify).
In order to be eligible for the fund, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have a UK bank account (no Paypal transfers).
Not have had a comic published by Quindrie Press in the past, whether that’s a standalone comic (ie. one-shot or graphic novel) or as part of the anthology Tilt: Six Tales.
Creators who created a comic for When I Was Me: Moments of Gender Euphoria are eligible to apply.
Creators who were commissioned to produce illustrations for Quindrie Press (ie. print rewards for Kickstarter campaigns) but have not had their own comic published with Quindrie Press are eligible to apply.
Creators who worked freelance on production for Quindrie Press but have not had their own comic published with Quindrie Press are eligible to apply.
We would particularly like to encourage creators of colour, queer creators, disabled creators, and other marginalised or disadvantaged creators to apply.
While the fund is open to creators all over the UK, we will be prioritising creators who live in Scotland.
Donating to the Quindrie Comic Fund
I would be delighted to expand the fund and would gratefully accept donations of any size. If you would like to donate to the fund so that it can support more creators, please go to this page to learn how and sign up for an email notification when the donation page goes live on 6th April 2026.
Donors will be listed on the Quindrie Comic Fund results page along with the total that they donated. You will be able to remain anonymous if you wish, but the total amounts will be listed for transparency

FAQ
Why is the fund only open to UK-based creators?
As there are fewer indie presses and comic-related opportunities in the UK, I am focusing on providing opportunities to creators closer to home.
Why will creators living in Scotland be prioritised?
There is very little funding for comics in Scotland; Scottish creators essentially have access to one creative fund, which is split between a huge range of creative practices and historically has given little to no support to comic projects. I want to ensure my local scene thrives.
I’m from the UK but I don’t live there. Can I apply?
No, this fund is specifically for creators who live in the UK.
I currently live in the UK but will move away within the next two years. Can I apply?
No, this project is specifically for people who will be living in the UK for at least the next two years.
Does my application have to be for a completely new project?
No! If you already have a comic you are working on, whether it’s a short comic, a graphic novel, or a webcomic, then you are still eligible to apply. However, if your project has already been funded on Kickstarter, you will not be eligible to apply. Please also bear in mind that, if your submission is successful, the funds will not be transferred until after 31st October 2026.
Can I apply to put money towards a comic that I have already printed myself and am selling?
Yes! For example, you might apply for money to put towards travel costs, table fees, a reprint, or a launch event.
Can I apply to put money towards a comic that has already been picked up by a publisher?
No, this fund is for creators who are self-publishing their work OR who are working on a project that has not yet been picked up by a publisher. If you are planning for your comic to be pitched to a publisher, for example, you may apply to cover develpoment of the pitch.
Can I apply with a comic if I am also working on another comic that has been picked up by a publisher?
Yes, as long as the money will go towards the project you apply with and not the other project.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can apply for?
There is no minimum; you can apply for a fiver if you really want. The maximum is £1,000.
How many times can I submit?
You may only submit one application. If you submit more than one, only your final application will be considered.
Can I donate to the Quindrie Comic Fund to increase the pot?
I would be delighted to expand the fund. If you would like to donate to the fund so that it can support more creators, please go to this page to learn how and to sign up for an email notification when the donation page goes live on 6th April 2026.
